Zlatan Ibrahimovic now just 2/1 for Man United summer exit

| 13.02.2017

He may be a Manchester United player for now, but stalls in contract extension talks have seen the odds of Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaving in the summer fall to just 2/1.

And a move to MLS is his most likely destination, according to our traders. It’s just a 2/1 shot for the Swedish veteran to make the switch to North America when this season ends.

Of course, much of this could depend on where United end up in the table this year. It’s likely Champions League football would keep Ibra onboard for at least another 12 months. But anything else would leave the Red Devils in dangerous territory in their attempt to keep hold of the striker.

Already with 15 league goals to his name this year, the 35-year-old has more than silenced his critics who thought the Premier League would be too demanding a division for a player of Ibrahimovic’s age.

Meanwhile, it’s thought the former Barcelona man could be the latest huge name to make the move to Asia, with 4/1 on offer for the forward to sign for any Chinese club.

But a return to his boyhood club looks unlikely. Despite a move to Malmo being a 3/1 shot last month,  those odds have since drifted to 8/1.

Ladbrokes News’ Alex Apati said: “Manchester’s loss could MLS’ gain this summer with the odds getting ever shorter for Zlatan to make a sensational Old Trafford exit.”
