Chelsea v Tottenham: Wembley form points towards victory for Blues

It’s arguably the most exciting Emirates FA Cup semi-final weekend in recent history, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur battling it out for a place in the final against either Arsenal or Manchester City.
And as far as form goes, it looks as though Antonio Conte’s Blues will be the first team to book themselves a place in this year’s showpiece event.
They may have lost 2-0 to Spurs last time the two sides met, but the West Londoners have a habit of turning things up a gear or two at Wembley.
The same can’t be said for Tottenham.
Of their last eight visits to the famous stadium in this competition, Chelsea have won seven games. Not too shabby.
Spurs, however, have won just two of their last nine trips to Wembley in all competitions since 2007.
With that in mind, the 13/8 on a Chelsea victory looks generous. But Mauricio Pochettino’s men will no doubt be up for this. They head into the Saturday evening kick-off on the back of eight successive wins in all competitions – having already got the better of the Blues once this year as well.
In an exclusive interview with Ladbrokes News earlier this week, former Spurs legend Teddy Sheringham told us his old club must put in a real team performance if they’re to prevail, and that’s exactly what they’ve been doing over the last few weeks.
Harry Kane’s return from injury last weekend was met with a routine goal, while Heung-Min Son has been in deadly form of late.
The former is 9/2 to open the scoring, a price he shares with Chelsea front man Diego Costa, while Son is 9/4 to find the net at any time.
However, it’s rare a team wins back-to-back games against the champions elect, and they’ll be looking to exact revenge for that defeat at White Hart Lane back in January.
Edging closer and closer to the Premier League title, Chelsea will be looking to complete an impressive double, and having conceded just one goal en route to the semis this year, there could be some value in backing Conte’s boys to win to nil at 7/2.
