Ex Man United ace should consider summer Tottenham move

We’ve seen plenty of big names come and go at Manchester United over the last few years. Things never really worked out for Falcao, Angel Di Maria, Bastian Schweinsteiger or Shinji Kagawa.
But the latter should be seriously considering a move back to the Premier League this summer. And were he to do that, there’d likely be a whole host of potential suitors queuing up for his signature.
As things stand, our traders make Tottenham Hotspur Kagawa’s most likely destination at 2/1. And there’s plenty of sense in that move as far as we’re concerned.
For starters, the Japan international has unfinished business in England.
A return to the top-flight for a 28-year-old with a point to prove makes for an ideal signing for a team slowly becoming one of the best in the division.
Secondly, he’s struggling to force his way into Thomas Tuchel’s starting XI at Borussia Dortmund.
A £7m return to the Bundesliga back in 2014 was followed by two successful campaigns in Germany, where the forward registered an impressive 14 goals and 15 assists across the two seasons.
But he’s now competing with the likes of Andre Schurrle, Marco Reus, Christian Pulisic, Ousmane Dembele, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mario Gotze for a place in the starting line-up. Suffice to say the former United ace hasn’t had it easy of late.
His versatility would certainly be welcomed at White Hart Lane, too. For all of their impressive traits, it has to be said that Spurs are short of world-class back-up were a couple of their star players to spend a lengthy time on the sidelines.
An experienced head such as Kagawa would be a smart addition to a side looking to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League next season. 47 appearances in Europe since 2010 certainly makes him a decent acquisition.
At 28, Kagawa is fast approaching the best years of his career. With that in mind, he should be looking for a new challenge, and we reckon he’d fit right in at Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino.
Meanwhile, it’s 4/1 for him to make the move across North London to Spurs’ Neighbours Arsenal, while 5/1 says he joins up with former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
