Man United remain favourites for Europa League after Anderlecht draw

Manchester United are still favourites to win this season’s Europa League, despite conceding a late equaliser away at Anderlecht last night.

But the Red Devils did claim a vital away goal, and we make them 11/10 favourites to win the competition – and secure a Champions League spot in the process.

Lyon are second in the betting at 10/3, but the French side’s odds would look drastically different today had they not managed to score twice in the final 10 minutes to beat Besiktas 2-1.

Celta Vigo come next at 6/1, although the La Liga outfit still have work to do next week when they defend a 3-2 lead versus Genk in Belgium.

Ajax produced something of an upset to defeat Schalke 2-0 in the Netherlands, and we’re 7/1 on the Eredivisie giants securing their first major European trophy in over 20 years.

That result has left Schalke seemingly out of it at 16/1, alongside Besiktas.

But the real outsiders now are Genk and Anderlecht, with the pair each 33/1 to win the competition.

The second legs take place next week, with Man United 1/4 favourites to defeat their Dutch opponents and secure their place in the semi-finals.
