Rory’s Masters hopes look to be over while Spieth chases lead

Never before in Masters history have we seen back-to-back wins for English golfers at Augusta. But Justin Rose is potentially hours away from doing exactly that, and as things stand he’s the 5/2 favourite to go all the way.
In fact, this is also the first time in history that two Europeans head the leaderboard on the final day, with Sergio Garcia (4/1) also sitting on a score of -6.
Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy’s Masters hopes seem all but over as he finds himself six shots off the lead right now. That’s seen his odds tumble to 40/1 as a result – and it would take something truly special for him to reduce that deficit between now and the final hole.
Jordan Spieth remains one of the most backed golfers still standing in the competition, with plenty fancying the 2015 Masters winner to make it two wins in three years at this famous course.
He’s currently on -4, two shots off the pace. Not a million miles off the lead, and he’s certainly capable of closing that gap in the coming hours. With that in mind, the 23-year-old represents great value at 3/1.
Charley Hoffman now finds himself out at 20/1, despite recording an impressive 65 on the opening day.
And ahead of him in the outright market comes Adam Scott and Ryan Moore, both available at 14/1.
As for debutant Jon Rahm, he’s in a similar position to McIlroy – six shots off the lead and out to 100/1 to go all the way in his first year at Augusta.
