AC Milan to muscle in on Chelsea and Man United’s Morata hopes

Published:

They’re ready to spend big this summer following a takeover by a Chinese Consortium, and AC Milan’s newly-flexed muscle could be bad news for the Premier League.

The Italian giants are reportedly very keen on signing Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with the Spanish ace in recent months.

The 24-year-old started just 14 times in La Liga this season, and is widely believed to be eager for a Bernabeu escape.

With a spot in Spain’s World Cup squad to aim for next summer, Morata can’t afford another year playing second fiddle.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, AC want the forward to be at the forefront of their plans as they seek a return to the top.

Earlier this month the San Siro outfit finished outside Serie A’s top five for the fourth season in succession.

Our traders certainly Milan lead the way, with 5/4 on offer for Morata to make the move.

Chelsea second in the market at 3/1, with Man United out at 5/1.

Morata is tied to Madrid until 2021 however, and is valued at £34m by transfermarkt.co.uk.

So however he does sign for, he won’t come cheap.

Should he move to AC, then it means Morata will miss out on working with Antonio Conte for a second time.

Conte had signed the Spaniard on a two-year loan when at Juventus, but the Italian then left a month late to take up to managerial post of the national team.
