Brendan Rodgers named Ladbrokes Premiership Manager of the Month

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has received the Ladbrokes Premiership Manager of the Month award for April.

The Hoops began the month with a 5-0 thumping of Heart of Midlothian at Tannadice, with a Scott Sinclair hat-trick helping the Parkhead outfit to a 16th win in 18 meetings with Hearts.

That was followed by a 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle, before the Bhoys breezed past Kilmarnock with a 3-1 victory at Celtic Park.

Ross County were the next challengers, with Rodgers’ men trying to make it 31 unbeaten in the Premiership. And they did just that, sharing the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

However, the best was yet to come for Rodgers and co, with the Hoops producing a sensational 5-1 victory at Ibrox – their second triumph over Rangers this term by that scoreline, and the Bhoys’ biggest victory in Govan since 1897.

That victory left Celtic well on course to smash the 100-point mark, with Rodgers’ men now requiring just three more points from their final trio of games to secure that historic feat.

And based on the flair, finesse and finishing we saw from the Hoops under Rodgers in April, there’s little doubt they’ll pass their remaining tests with flying colours.

Next up is a trip to Pittodrie on Friday night, with 4/6 on offer for Celtic to enjoy a fifth victory over Aberdeen this season.
