Maori All Blacks offer Lions latest pre-Test challenge

| 16.06.2017

It’s two wins and two defeats for the British and Irish Lions on their Tour of 2017.

The first Test against New Zealand is a little over a week away now, and Warren Gatland has just two more warm up games to finesse his side.

The first of those is against the Maori All Blacks.

We make the Lions 8/15 favourites to bounce back from that narrow 22-23 loss to the Highlanders.

But it’s the Maoris who are the value bet at 15/8.

The side have won their last 20 fixtures, the highlight being a 31-28 win over Ireland.

Another solid angle looks to be under 48.5 total match points at 5/6.

All four of the Lions contests so far have seen 45 points or fewer, with two seeing 20 or less.

But if you do fancy the Lions to edgie it, then the Maoris could be worth a look at +5 on the handicap at Evens.

George North is among the favourites to bag the first try at 9/1.

But the Lions will again be up against Reiko Ioane.

The 20-year-old bagged the opening try for the Blues when they prevailed 22-16 last week, and is 9/1 to do so again in Rotorua.
