Lemar just 1/6 for Arsenal; odds cut on fellow Monaco ace joining

| 13.07.2017

They may not be able to offer Champions League football for the first season in 20 years, but that’s not affected Arsenal’s ability to attract top talent this summer.

And having already signed Alexandre Lacazette, it now seems two Monaco stars could well follow this summer, in the form of Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe.

In fact, the verdict on midfielder Lemar’s much-touted move to the Emirates is that it’s basically a done deal, with the boffins on our trading floor cutting odds of that move from 4/7 to 1/6 this afternoon.

As for Mbappe, the sensational teenager has also seen his odds of joining the North London outfit trimmed from 5/1 to 5/2 – news which is sure to quick the pulse of Gooners everywhere.

The pair managed a combined haul of 40 goals and 31 assists last term, so it’s fair to say that getting hold of either player would boost the 11/1 Gunners’ chances of lifting the Premier League. Get both men, and you can expect that price to drop suddenly…

One small dampener this summer for Arsenal fans lies in the future of Leon Goretzka, with the Schalke 04 youngster reportedly keen to remain with the Bundesliga club for the final year of his contract.

However, while there’s a sizeable 8/1 about the German heading to N7 this summer, we’re certainly not ruling out this move taking place in 12 months.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Two of Monaco’s hottest properties could be rocking up at Arsenal very soon, as Arsene Wenger looks to fire the Gunners back to their glory days.”
