Odds suggest Chelsea star Diego Costa is set for move to AC Milan

| 28.07.2017

Serie A side AC Milan could be about to go for a Brazilian, with Chelsea outcast Diego Costa rumoured to be in talks with the San Siro based side.

Our traders have slashed the striker’s odds for a move to the Italian club to 1/5, in from 8/1 earlier in the month.

The 28-year-old hit 22 goals for the Blues last season despite falling out of favour with manager Antonio Conte.

But now there appears no way back for the Spain international, especially since the arrival of Alvaro Morata.

The ex-Atletico Madrid star has been frozen out by Conte ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

And with a move to a fellow Premier League club out of the question, Costa’s future appears to lie abroad.

China could also be another destination for Costa, but with an approach by Tianjin Quanjian knocked back earlier in the window, it seems unlikely the 6ft 2in forward will end up in Asia.

The latest odds reflect that with 11/2 on offer for Costa to join any Chinese Super League club.

Former employers Atletico Madrid have also been touted as another possible destination for the striking powerhouse, and we make him 9/4 to move back to the Spanish capital.

If a deal to Milan falls through for the Chelsea ace, those odds will start to look very generous indeed.

Diego Costa – Club at end of Summer 2017 transfer window

AC Milan – 1/5

Atletico Madrid – 9/4

Any Chinese Super League club – 11/2
