The key Rosenborg men for Celtic to watch out for

Ladbrokes Premiership champions Glasgow Celtic face Rosenborg in the first-leg of their Champions League third round qualifier on Wednesday night.

After gliding past Northern Irish champions Linfield, the Hoops now face the Eliteserien title holders at Celtic Park.

Ahead of the big game, we’re giving you a rundown of the Norwegians key men who will pose Brendan Rodgers’ side the most danger..

Nicklas Bendtner

Self-proclaimed as “one of the best footballers in the world”, the former Arsenal striker’s career has hit a bit of a downward spiral since in the last few seasons.

A move to Bundesliga club Wolfsburg didn’t quite work out, followed by another disappointing spell at Nottingham Forest.

With six goals to his name so far in Trondheim, it’s been a bit of a rehabilitative spell at Rosenborg. Bendtner does still have the talent to hurt Celtic, but he’ll have to be on top of his game.

Milan Jevtovic

Arguably the most impressive of Rosenberg’s performers in their two-leg tie against Dundalk in the previous round, the on-loan Antalyaspor forward is probably most capable of causing trouble

Able to play anywhere across the frontline, the Serb generally plays centrally, just behind Bendtner.

Joint-top scorer with seven goals in 15 games during his stay at the Lerkendal Stadion, he’s most definitely one to keep an eye on tomorrow night.

Yann-Erik de Lanlay

Signed from Viking FK in 2015, the 25-year-old’s career has been interrupted by injury but showed his quality in both games against Dundalk, particularly his lovely finish for the equaliser in the second-leg.

A tricky winger with two good feet, the Norwegian international will be looking to cause damage down Celtic’s left flank.
