Big Money on Conor McGregor as punter stakes £10k on the Irishman

The big money is starting to come in for Conor McGregor in Las Vegas this weekend, with one of our punters laying down £10,000 on the Irishman defeating Floyd Mayweather Jr.

At odds of 11/4, the online customer, from Merseyside, will turn his £10k into £37.5k if Notorious can cause an upset in his professional boxing debut.

McGregor is still the outsider for the contest but that hasn’t stopped punters weighting in with significant cash for the Irishman.

For every bet taken on Mayweather to win the bout, the bookies are seeing 10 bets placed on McGregor.

As a result, the UFC Star has seen his odds fall from 13/2 to 11/4 since the blockbuster bout was announced.

And with just days to go until the bell rings out at the T-Mobile Arena, it only looks as though those odds are going to continue to tumble.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The big bets are coming thick and fast, but while the majority have been staked on Mayweather up to this point, it’s McGregor who’s starting to attract serious interest in the build-up to the fight of the century.”
