Dundee v Hibernian: Fireworks expected in Dens Park cracker

Published:

It’s a Ladbrokes Premiership battle of wits between two ex-Old Firm foes as Neil Lennon takes his Hibernian side to face Neil McCann’s Dundee at Dens Park.

The former Celtic captain has worked wonders at Hibs since taking over in June of last year, leading the Leith club to the Ladbrokes Championship title in his first season.

After a three year absence, the Easter Road outfit are back in the Scottish big time and have made a cracking start with two wins from their opening three games.

Dundee, on the other hand, have been poor, losing all three league fixtures. The Dark Blues have struggled under ex-Rangers midfielder, McCann.

In fact, the Tayside club haven’t won a league game on home turf since the end of February.

That probably explains the 13/5 price on them to win here, with the draw at 9/4 and Hibernian even-money for all three points.

We’re leaning more towards the Hibees winning, but the price is a little short for our liking.

Instead, Both Teams To Score at 4/5 looks a bit more advisable. Each side has found the net in this fixture in four of the last five, with a total of 18 goals scored in those games.

Over 2.5 Goals is an even-money shot and we like that, too. If you do fancy the Hibs win and three or more goals to be scored, a price of 16/5 is available.

Dundee midfielder Scott Allan faces his old club, having signed on a season-long loan deal from Celtic.

Considering how many times ex-players score against their former clubs, It would come as no surprise to see him hit the back of the net here.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder is 9/2 to score anytime.
