How many trophies will Arsenal win this season?

| 08.08.2017

With three FA Cup wins in the last four years, Arsenal’s infamous trophy drought is a thing of the past, but will this be the year they taste Premier League glory again?

After missing out on the top four for the first time in Arsene Wenger’s 21-year reign, Arsenal go into the new campaign without Champions League football, but that could present an opportunity to fully focus on challenging for the title.

Wenger demonstrated surprising flexibility to switch to a 3-4-3 system and turn around Arsenal’s season last year and he’s made a couple of impressive additions to his squad this summer.

Alexandre Lacazette has arrived for a club-record £46.5 million fee and he could be the clinical striker that Arsenal have lacked in recent years.

If the club keep hold of Alexis Sanchez, an attacking trio of Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and the Chile international is a tantalising prospect.

Sead Kolasinac has also come in on a free transfer – the powerful full-back was named in the Bundesliga’s Team of the Year last season and looks like a very smart signing.

They could still do with another central midfielder given Santi Cazorla’s injury problems, although Granit Xhaka finished last season strongly and will want to push on further in his second year in England.

Arsenal may be quietly confident, but there’s arguably more competition than ever before for the top spot.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and North London rivals Tottenham are all in the hunt, which means Arsenal are priced at 11/1 to win it.

The cup competitions may present a better chance of silverware and the Gunners are 8/1 to defend the FA Cup.

The Carabao Cup is the only domestic trophy Wenger has yet to win in his Arsenal tenure – the club are 8/1 to lift it at Wembley.

Wenger has said he will use the Europa League to rotate his squad, but it offers a route to Champions League qualification and Arsenal are arguably the strongest side in the competition.

They are joint favourites with a resurgent AC Milan at 8/1.

Fancy Arsenal to win the FA Cup and the Europa League? Back them at 33/1 to do the double.
