Watford 6/4 to add Liverpool defender to their ranks this summer

Having been frozen out at Anfield last season, Alberto Moreno’s career is desperately in need of a fresh start. Right now, the odds suggest that Watford could come to the out-of-favour Liverpool defender’s aid this summer.

The 25-year-old – signed by Brendan Rodgers in 2014 – made 27 and 28 Premier League starts respectively in his first two seasons, but was essentially isolated last term, with Jurgen Klopp giving the out-of-favour defender just two Prem stars in 2016-17.

However, the Reds’ disinterest in the Spaniard could be Watford’s gain, with Marco Silva looking to bolster a Hornets backline which shipped 68 league goals last season. And it’s 6/4 they secure his signature before the window closes.

If he manages to snap up the left-back this summer, then Silva has an exciting opportunity on his hands.

There’s no question Moreno has bags of natural talent, having played an integral part in Sevilla’s 2014 Europa League triumph, picking up three Spain caps in that period.

The issue, then, is – could Watford help the full-back come good on his exciting potential or is his career irreparably on the slide?

The Hornets host Liverpool at Vicarage Road next Saturday, with 19/4 on offer for the Hertfordshire side to win.

But which side will Moreno be on when that game rolls around?
