Brexit speech Buzzword Bingo: May to mention Boris is 2/1

| 20.09.2017

After a week when Boris Johnson has been making the headlines, Theresa May is tipped to name check the Foreign Secretary in her Brexit speech, according to our odds.

May will deliver her speech on Brexit negotiations in Florence on Friday and that means it’s time for Buzzword Bingo.

Boris Johnson is 2/1 to be mentioned in the speech.

The former Mayor of London outlined his own position on Brexit in a controversial 4000-word article.

Other phrases expected to feature in the Prime Minister’s address are “I’m very clear” at 1/3 and “Take Back Control” and “Renaissance” at 1/2.

At 3/1 are “Tough Choices” and outlining a desire to “Get On with the Job”.

However, after hearing “Strong and Stable” so often during the election campaign, our traders don’t expect May to wheel it out again at 10/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “After a tense week between the pair, punters are keen to see if the PM uses the Florence speech to have a dig at Boris and show him who’s really boss.”
