Man United lead Bayern and Barcelona in bid to sign Napoli legend

Man United transfer news

Manchester United’s summer transfer business is already paying dividends, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic impressing. And Jose Mourinho could be set to make another big-name signing in January, in the shape of Marek Hamsik.

The Red Devils are 2/1 favourites to make Old Trafford the Slovakian’s next home, with the 30-year-old claiming that it “would be hard” to reject a move to the Manchester giants.

Last season was perhaps Hamsik’s finest to date, with the Gli Azzurri captain netting 15 times and assisting 14 goals from midfield, helping the Naples club to a third-placed finish in Serie A.

However, after more than a decade with Napoli, and just two Coppa Italia winners’ medals to his name, it seems the player is ready to move on. And United aren’t the only interested party.

Bayern Munich are also believed to be keen, with 4/1 on offer for Carlo Ancelotti to tempt the midfielder to Bavaria. They’re followed in the betting by Barcelona at 5/1.

Arsenal have emerged as an interested party, but with the North London club struggling at present, our traders make them rank outsiders at 10/1.

Next up for Man United is a trip to Stoke City this weekend, with the visitors 1/2 for victory.

If Mourinho’s men continue their impressive start to the campaign, Hamsik would find a potential approach even tougher to refuse.
