Super Sunday: We look at Tottenham v Liverpool & Everton v Arsenal

| 20.10.2017

It’s Merseyside v North London this weekend. Liverpool head to Wembley looking to make it 10 meetings unbeaten against Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, under-fire Everton boss Ronald Koeman will be hoping a positive result against Arsenal can save him from the chop.

Here’s what we’re expecting from Sunday’s pair of crackers…

Tottenham v Liverpool

Both sides head into this one on the back of impressive Champions League displays. Spurs bagged a well-earned point away at Real Madrid, while the Reds ran riot in Maribor, winning 7-0.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are looking to extend their unbeaten streak in this fixture to 10 games. They’ve won six and drawn three of the last nine meetings. That means Double Chance: Liverpool or Draw looks a solid bet at 4/6.

There’s a ton of attacking talent on show in this one, and there’s a player from each side catching our eye in the goalscorer markets.

Christian Eriksen has opened the scoring in three of his past six games for club and country. He’s 8/1 to net first at Wembley on Sunday.

As for the Reds, in-form Philippe Coutinho has scored in four of their last six matches. The 9/4 on the Brazilian in the Anytime Goalscorer market looks a value bet.

In the match betting, Tottenham are 23/20 for victory, with Liverpool 11/5 and the draw priced up at 5/2.

However, the likelihood of a high-scoring contest means Liverpool to Win and Both Teams to Score could offer the best value at 21/5.

Everton v Arsenal

The Gunners head into this game on the back of five wins from six games. That’s form that Everton fans can only dream of at present, with their side winless in four games. In fact, the Merseyside club have lost two home games on the spin.

That’s likely to become three on Sunday. Arsene Wenger’s men have taken maximum points from four of the past five meetings, including a comfortable 3-1 win on the final day of last season.

Arsenal look good value at even-money in the match betting, with Everton 13/5 for victory and 5/2 about the draw.

However, the savviest selections could lie elsewhere.

With the Toffees scoring just two goals in their past three games and Arsenal netting in six games on the trot, Arsenal to Win to Nil looks well worth a flutter at 11/4.

Wenger’s men have netted either side of the break in three of their last five encounters, so Arsenal to Score in Both Halves at 15/8 looks a good call.

One man who could be the difference is Olivier Giroud. Six of his last eight goals have closed out the scoring in games, and he can be backed as Last Goalscorer at 4/1.
