Super Sunday: We preview Southampton v Everton & Huddersfield v Man City

| 24.11.2017

Southampton and Everton are first up on Super Sunday with a vital Premier League clash at St. Mary’s.

More so for David Unsworth’s outfit considering how perilously close the Blues are to the drop-zone.

Then we head north to the John Smith’s Stadium where Huddersfield Town host league leaders, Manchester City.

Let’s go more in-depth on both games…

Southampton v Everton

It’s safe to say that this season has not turned out how both these clubs would have expected.

The Blues were badly embarrassed by Atalanta in the Europa League on Thursday night in a 5-1 defeat. Unsworth questioned his players’ passion for the shirt after the game.

Whether that will elicit a response from the squad, we don’t know. But morale is certainly low on the blue half of Merseyside.

Southampton have bagged two of their three wins this term at St. Mary’s, whereas the Toffees have yet to win away. The 5/6 on the home win looks decent value.

Everton have managed to find the net just four times on the road in six games. Saints have scored six goals in seven home games.

This one looks like it could be tight. Under 2.5 Goals is 8/13 but Southampton to win and Under 2.5 Goals looks a better bet at 13/5.

Huddersfield v Man City

The Premier League record for consecutive wins is currently set at 14 by Arsenal in 2002. Man City are now just four wins off and could make it 11-in-a-row at Huddersfield.

However, it might not be easy for Pep Guardiola’s outfit. The Terriers are currently the seventh-best home side in the division with three wins and two draws from six games.

Huddersfield have conceded just six goals in those games at the John Smith’s Stadium. City have also won their last two by 2-0 and 1-0 scorelines.

Could a tight game be in the offing? Under 2.5 Goals is generously priced at 31/20.

If you’re feeling a little braver, Man City to win and Under 2.5 Goals is even bigger at 27/10.

Raheem Sterling has been in tremendous form all season and scored the winner in midweek against Feyenoord.

The England international now has 11 goals in all competitions this season and is 7/5 to add to that tally Anytime here.
