Best bets for Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup games

Stamford Bridge - Chelsea

Four more sides are looking to make the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Wednesday night, as the road to Wembley continues.

Championship high-fliers Bristol City are hoping for a night to remember at home to current holders Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe takes his AFC Bournemouth side to face the Premier League champions.

Here are our top tips on the action…

Chelsea v AFC Bournemouth (7:45 PM)

The Blues have dominated this fixture in recent times, winning the last four meetings.

Chelsea are 1/4 favourites for victory, with the Draw 9/2 and a Cherries win 11/1.

However, with skinny odds on the hosts winning, the best value looks to be elsewhere.

Howe’s men have failed to score in their last two games. The Blues have won and kept a clean sheet in nine games this term. Chelsea to Win to Nil is 11/10.

The West London outfit have led at the break in five of their last six wins. That means Half Time/Full Time: Chelsea/Chelsea looks generously-priced at 17/20.

They’ve also dished out some hammerings this term, including a win by four or more goals on five occasions. Bournemouth lost 4-0 at home to Liverpool in their last game. The Chelsea -2 handicap looks good value at 15/8.

Eden Hazard always seems to have a say in this fixture. He’s scored five times in four meetings with the South Coast club. He’s 5/6 in the Anytime Goalscorer market, and 10/3 to Score 2 or More Goals.

Bristol City v Man United (8:00 PM)

The Red Devils have won three in a row on their travels, but haven’t made it easy for themselves. Jose Mourinho’s men are without a clean sheet in five.

Their hosts have scored in five successive games, but that run has included a home defeat to Preston North End. Man United to Win and Both Teams to Score looks a good call at 19/10.

Jesse Lingard could play a big part. The winger from Warrington loves this competition. He’s scored four times in United’s last three League Cup games, and is 7/4 in the Anytime Goalscorer market.

For the Robins, towering defender Aden Flint has scored in three of his last seven outings. He’s 7/2 to add to that tally here.

United have been strong starters of late, leading by two or more goals at the interval in three of their last six. First Half Handicap: United -1 looks tasty at 4/1.

In the match betting, the visitors are 4/9 to win. Lee Johnson’s men are 6/1 for a famous victory, while 17/5 says it’s honours-even after 90 minutes.
