Rumour Reel Round-up: Wednesday 3rd January

Cenk Tosun

January may be only 31 days long, but it can make or break a club’s entire season.

The mid-campaign window is open and ready for business, and we’ve already seen Liverpool fork out £75m for Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.

Here are a few other players who could yet be primed for a January jump elsewhere according to the latest reports…

Ibrahim Amadou

For all of Roy Hodgson’s good work at Crystal Palace, he still hasn’t quite got them to tighten up at the back.

And the news that Scott Dann will be out for the rest of the season with a cruciate injury may force the former England boss into a January swoop.

Lille centre-back Ibrahim Amadou is the man Palace reportedly have their eye on.

The 23-year-old has impressed in Ligue 1 this season, and can also play in defensive midfield. A deal between £13m-16m has been touted.

Philipp Max

The Augbsburg left-back is still being linked with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and both Manchester clubs.

His impressive displays down the flank have impressed the Premier League heavyweights. Max has supplied 10 assists in the Bundesliga this season.

Manchester United may soon cash in on Luke Shaw, freeing space and funds for Max at Old Trafford.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp signed Andrew Robertson in the summer, but could use additional quality and cover.

As for Tottenham, they’re likely to move if they lose Danny Rose, with the Manchester duo allegedly leading that chase.

Cenk Tosun

Everton still haven’t bagged their Romelu Lukaku-successor, but Cenk Tosun is closing in on arrival at Goodison Park.

The Besiktas forward has impressed in Turkey, and he could thrive with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson ready to provide through-balls galore.

This one looks more a matter of when, rather than if.

Matteo Darmian

Despite his versatility, Matteo Darmian isn’t getting a look in under Jose Mourinho at Man United.

The Italian has played just 15 minutes of football in United’s last 13 Premier League games.

And his agent has said that several Serie A teams have been in contact over potentially taking Darmian back home.

His contract expires in 18 months, so United may well fancy cashing in during the next couple of weeks.
