Odds cut on Gareth bale making Man United switch this summer

| 16.02.2018

Gareth Bale could be set for a return to the Premier League this summer, according to our odds.

After being benched for Real Madrid’s Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain last night, the Welshman has been cut into 2/1 to move to Manchester United in the summer.

The Red Devils have constantly been linked with the winger over the last 18 months and could now be prepared to act.

However, they may face competition from Bale’s former club Tottenham Hotspur. The North Londoners look set for Champions League football again next term and are 4/1 to re-sign their former hero.

Elsewhere, Manchester City can be backed at 8/1, while our traders go 10/1 that the Welsh wizard pitches up at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea.

The 28-year-old could also choose to remain the continent, with Bayern Munich and big-spending PSG available at 14/1 apiece.

Meanwhile, it’s a flat 1/2 that Bale remains a Real Madrid player at the end of the summer transfer window, while we go 6/4 that he exits the Bernabeu.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It feels like Bale’s time in Madrid is coming to an end. Despite the astronomical wages on offer, it’s hard to see him putting up with life on the bench, making a return to the Premier League seem inevitable, with Mourinho and Pochettino ready to battle it out for his signature.”
