The 2017/18 season has only a couple more months to run, and you can rest assured Premier League clubs are already scouting for potential summer signings.

The Ladbrokes News Team have been casting their eye too, with La Liga the focus this week.

Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann are battling for coverage in the press these days, as rumours persist over their potential summer moves.

But there are plenty of others who could be in line for a Premier League arrival in the off-season. Here’s five La Liga aces who could prove a bargain buy…

Maxi Gomez – Celta Vigo

Celta striker Maxi Gomez is quickly making a name for himself in Spain. The 21-year-old has bagged 14 times for the Vigo outfit this season.

It’s a fine return for a man who only arrived in Europe from his native Uruguay last summer. His performances, style of play and stocky frame have already seen him dubbed ‘the new Suarez’. The fact he’s collected 10 yellow cards this season also adds to the comparisons.

He’s taken to La Liga like a pro and is on course to smash the 20-goal barrier in his first campaign.

Gomez is tied to Celta until 2021, but a valuation of just £10.8m will ensure Premier League clubs come lurking.

Portu – Girona

Enjoying their first ever season in La Liga, Girona are going great guns and comfortably occupy a spot in the top 10.

That’s in no small part down to the starring role of midfield ace Portu.

The 25-year-old has bagged 11 goals from the middle of the park, and has kept Girona ticking along all season.

He arrived on a free transfer in 2016 from Albacete, and is under contract until 2021, but Portu is rapidly impressing in the top tier. Valued at just £4.5m, the Spaniard could well be in demand this summer.

Jose Angel – Eibar

There are a number of Premier League clubs who could do with improving their defences this season, and Jose Angel should be on their shortlists.

The left-back has shone for La Liga minnows Eibar, as the club defy all expectations to sit in the top 10.

His marauding runs have supplied an impressive seven assists, meaning the 28-year-old boasts assets at both ends of the pitch.

Angel has previously played for Roma, Porto, Real Sociedad and Villarreal, and could be a snip with a valuation of just £1.8m.

Arnaldo Sanabria – Real Betis

Another former Roma player is Arnaldo Sanabria, who is currently impressing for Real Betis.

The 21-year-old forward has scored seven times from 12 games this term and was impressing hugely before a knee injury in November which required surgery.

He’s unlikely to play again this season, but Tottenham Hotspur have been linked in the past.

Valued at £6.75m, Sanabria showed is credentials by bagging the winner for Betis away at Real Madrid in September, Premier League clubs will be monitoring his return closely.

Gerard Moreno – Espanyol

Another man who knows how to score a winner against Real is Espanyol’s Gerard Moreno.

The striker is on 11 goals for the campaign and is on course for his best ever return in the top tier. He’s also played every single minute for Quique Sanchez Flores’ side this term.

Moreno spent three years in the Barcelona youth setup, and the Catalan side have a world class reputation for producing quality players.

He’s contracted to Espanyol for another four years, but he’s proven himself in La Liga for several seasons now, and could be considered great value at just £10.8m.
