Ladbrokes News Acca: Everton, Fulham and Blackburn tipped up

Published:

With the weather settling down, we should be back to a full flurry of football this Saturday.

Postponements dominated last weekend, but that’s unlikely this time around.

So it’s full steam ahead for the latest tips and accas from the Ladbrokes News crew…

Here’s who we like this weekend…

Richard Marsh

Everton to beat Brighton & Hove Albion – 23/20

Everton would be much closer to the top six if the league table was based solely on home form.

Likewise, Brighton would be in major relegation rouble if the standings included only away results.

Sam Allardyce’s Toffees have lost just one of their last eight at home – and that was to Manchester United. The Seagulls have only won twice on their travels, and are winless away since November.

Cian Carroll

Blackburn Rovers to beat Blackpool – 8/11

This goes down as my NAP of the weekend. Blackburn are flying under Tony Mowbray, and have usurped Wigan Athletic at the top of the table in recent weeks.

Mowbray’s squad are just too good for this league. The likes of Charlie Mulgrew, Bradley Dack, and Danny Graham are a cut above the rest.

Blackpool are in a bit of relegation strife this season but remain five points ahead of the drop-zone.

They should be okay come May, but it’s unlikely they’ll be anywhere near good enough to get a result at Ewood Park, where Rovers have lost just twice in the league this term.

Dave Burin

Cardiff City to beat Birmingham – 8/13

The Bluebirds have managed maximum points from their last five Championship games, while Birmingham City have lost six on the trot.

Cardiff have home advantage in this one, and they’re near-unstoppable on their own patch, winning nine of the last 11 in South Wales.

Past history also points to a home victory, with Birmingham having never won at Cardiff’s current ground.

Miguel Assuncao

Fulham to beat Preston North End – 7/5

The Londoners are unbeaten in the league since Christmas and will be looking to close the gap to the automatic promotion places at Deepdale.

Preston have only won two of the last seven at home and may find Fulham’s free-flowing football a tricky proposition.

Nick Murphy

Shrewsbury Town to beat Walsall – 5/6

Fresh from booking a Wembley date in the Checkatrade Trophy, Shrewsbury Town should justify favouritism at home to Walsall.

The Shrews have won six of their last nine matches in all competitions and boast League One’s fourth-best home record.

Saturday’s visitors, by contrast, have won just once away from home since November and were recently stuffed 0-3 at home by relegation threatened Rochdale.

All signs point towards a comfortable home win.

So there we go. This Saturday’s selections are Everton/Cardiff/Fulham/Blackburn and Shrewsbury  all to win!
