Ruby Walsh odds-on to be top jockey at 2018 Cheltenham Festival
Ruby Walsh is odds-on to be top jockey at the Cheltenham Festival for a twelfth time after declaring he is “100%” following on from his fall in November.
The Irishman has been out of action of action since taking a tumble on-board Let’s Dance at Punchestown in a mares’ hurdle.
He looks set for a comeback next week and can be had at 8/11 to be Top Jockey at the Festival.
Walsh has 56 winners under his belt at jump racing’s blue-ribbon event. Last year he rode Yorkhill, Un de Sceaux, Nichols Canyon and Let’s Dance to success to claim the top jockey crown for the fifth year in a row.
He has a number of enticing rides once again and is 8/11 to have Over 3.5 Winners throughout the week.
The 38-year-old will be looking to open his account straight away on ante-post favourite Getabird in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. Walsh is expected to ride the jolly who is currently Ladbrokes’ biggest liability of the week.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes: “Absence makes the heart grow fonder and with his long-awaited return set to be on Getabird in the opener, punters will be itching to unload their cash on their festival hero and his mount.”
