Arsenal v Atletico Tips: Gunners need to beware Costa and Griezmann

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal farewell continues tonight with a crucial Europa League semi-final first-leg tie at home to Atletico Madrid.

The Gunners are in good form having won their last six matches at the Emirates in all competitions.

That includes resounding 3-1 and 4-1 successes against AC Milan and CSKA Moscow in previous rounds.

Atletico, by contrast, have only won one of their last five matches and are winless away from home since mid-March.

Arsenal are priced at 29/20 to secure a first-leg advantage. The visitors are available at 9/5, with the draw at 21/10.

Whatever the scoreline, we’re expecting goals. The La Liga side are famed for keeping things tight. The same cannot be said of the North Londoners.

There have been at least two goals scored in each of the Gunners’ last 13 matches. Only two Arsenal fixtures since mid-December have produced fewer than two goals.

It’s 4/11 for there to be Over 1.5 Goals this evening. That increases to 23/20 for Over 2.5.

Add in that Wenger’s men have been involved in five straight matches where both teams have found the back of the net, and that makes Both Teams to Score available at 17/20.

Diego Simeone’s men boast a whole host of likely scorers.

Antoine Griezmann has 13 goals in his last 13 matches and is rated the most likely Anytime scorer at 13/10. Our traders go 7/2 that he breaks the deadlock.

Ex-Chelsea man Diego Costa is touch-and-go for tonight’s clash at the Emirates.

He bagged three goals in six matches against Wenger’s men in his time at Stamford Bridge and is 21/20 Anytime.

For the Gunners, Alexandre Lacazette will continue to lead the line.

The Frenchman has bagged 12 of his 15 Arsenal goals on home turf. He’s currently on a run of six goals in his last six matches.

You can back the 26-year-old at 7/4 to continue his hot-streak against Atletico.

Further down the list it’s Nacho Monreal who makes appeal. The defender has popped up with six strikes already this season and is a massive 22/1 to round off proceedings with a goal tonight.

In what should be a feisty game, you can also back 21-40 Booking Points at even-money.
