Premier League Picks: Relegation battle heats up this weekend

Manchester City could wrap up the title on Sunday. And the top four looks settled now. But there could be plenty of drama in the Premier League relegation race this weekend.

Every point matters at this stage of the season. And with six games kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, we’ve put together some tips to help you make your selections…

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace

Bournemouth are in decent home form. They’ve only lost one in five at the Vitality Stadium. But Palace are desperate for points in their desperate for survival. The draw is 12/5.

Jermain Defoe scored a late equaliser for the Cherries against Watford last weekend. He could be in line to start up top here. The veteran is 8/5 to score Anytime.

There’s been Over 2.5 Goals in all eight of Bournemouth’s home games since Christmas. It’s 4/5 that this match follows the same pattern.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Huddersfield Town

Brighton’s home form looks likely to keep them up this term. It could see them pick up three points against a Huddersfield team that struggles on the road too. A home win is 17/20.

Huddersfield haven’t won away in the league game since December. David Wagner’s side haven’t scored in any of their last four games either. We go 7/4 on Brighton to Win to Nil.

Pascal Gross’ creativity has been a huge influence for Brighton this season. He’s 5/2 to make 1+ assists here.

Leicester City v Newcastle United

Newcastle have climbed up to 12th after two successive wins, but they’ll find it hard to get anything at the King Power Stadium. They’ve not won on any of their last four away trips. It’s 10/11 that Leicester get the points.

Newcastle should get on the scoresheet though. Claude Puel’s side haven’t shut out the opposition in any of their previous three home games. Leicester and Both Teams to Score is 16/5.

Jamie Vardy’s bagged four goals in his last five appearances. He’s 10/3 to open the scoring for the Foxes.

Stoke City v Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham can tighten their grip on a top four place here and send Stoke a step closer to the Championship. Spurs to Win to Nil is 23/20.

Harry Kane’s in contention to start after returning to fitness. He’ll be determined to make up ground on Mo Salah and win his third consecutive Golden Boot. He’s 14/5 to score 2 Goals or More.

Recent history doesn’t offer Stoke much encouragement here. They’ve lost each of the last four meetings, conceding 17 goals and only scoring once. Spurs to win with a -2.0 Handicap is 11/5.

Watford v Burnley

Burnley will fancy their chances of leapfrogging Arsenal into sixth by the end of the campaign. But they’ve not won on any of their last four visits to Vicarage Road. It’s 21/10 for the draw.

Ashley Barnes has scored in four consecutive games for the Clarets. Will be make it five in a row? He’s 9/5 to get on the scoresheet.

Will Hughes stood out during Watford’s draw with Bournemouth last week. He’s 6/4 to make 1+ assists here.

West Bromwich Albion v Swansea City

Defeat here would leave West Brom needing to make up at least 10 points from five games to survive. But after Alan Pardew’s departure, there may be a response here. West Brom or Draw is 1/3 in the Double Chance market.

It’s likely to be a cagey game here. Any error could be costly. Under 2.5 Goals is 4/7.

Salomon Rondon is one of the few West Brom players to emerge with any credit this term. He’s 9/2 to get the first goal.
