Ladbrokes News Acca: Atletico and Monaco head up Euro special

| 11.05.2018

The Football League may have finished, and the Premier League comes to a close on Sunday, but in Europe it’s still all systems go.

There’s a whole host of Euro action to enjoy, including plenty of La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga.

We’re getting stuck in with this weekend. Here’s who we fancy on the continent…

Richard Marsh

Real Betis to beat Sevilla – 31/20

It’s the Sevilla derby this weekend, but it’s Real Betis who could be taking the local glory.

Betis have been sensational of late, moving above their rivals into fifth. They’ve won seven of their last nine, and only Barcelona and Real Madrid have won at the Estadio Benito Villamarin in 2018.

As for Sevilla, they’ll hop across town having won just two of their last 11. They’ve also lost 11 away league games already this season.

Cian Carroll

Lazio to beat Crotone – 10/11

Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio troops badly need a win here to stay ahead of Inter Milan in the race for the Champions League. And that’s all the motivation the Biancocelesti need.

This pick doesn’t come without its pitfalls. There’s a slight injury crisis among the Lazio ranks. Ciro Immobile is still out, while Marco Parolo and Stefan Radu are doubtful. But Lucas Leiva and Stefan de Vrij should return.

Crotone are fighting for Serie A survival but Lazio are one of the best away sides in Italy and should have enough to get over the line in Calabria.

Daniel Anwar

Atletico Madrid to beat Getafe – 12/5

Atletico Madrid may have one eye on Wednesday’s Europa League final but Diego Simeone will want his team to get back to winning ways after last weekend’s loss to Espanyol.

Getafe have only won one of their last four games at home. And they’ve got a dismal record against Atleti. The hosts haven’t even scored in any of their last 13 meetings with the Madrid club.

Atletico also have the added motivation of finishing above Real Madrid. A win would ensure they finish second, leaving Real in third.

Dave Burin

FC Utrecht to beat Heerenveen – 7/10

The battle for a Europa League spot continues in the Eredivisie. Utrecht lost the first leg of this double-header 4-3, but played much of the game with 10 men.

Utrecht have home advantage this time, and are currently 15 games unbeaten at Stadion Galgenwaard – winning five of the last seven.

Add in the fact they’ve won three successive home meetings against Heerenveen, and the second leg looks likely to go the way of Jean-Paul de Jong’s men.

Nick Murphy

Monaco to beat St. Etienne – 8/13

Paris Saint-Germain may have run away with the Ligue 1 title, but second spot is still up for grabs in the French top-flight.

Monaco are a point behind Lyon and host a St. Etienne side who have not won this fixture in its last seven iterations.

Add in that Leonardo Jardim’s men have have won 20 of their last 24 league matches at the Stade Louis II, and it’s the home side who get the nod.

Charlie Dear

Hamburg to beat Borussia Mochengladbach – 13/10
It’s win or bust for Hamburg on yet another final day – but this time it may still not be enough!
After scraping through the relegation play-off in two of the last four seasons, they will just be grateful to have another chance this campaign.
The six time Bundesliga champions must win for only the third time this calendar year to have any chance of survival.

So there we go. This Saturday’s selections are Real Betis/Lazio/Atletico Madrid/FC Utrecht/Monaco and Hamburg all to win!
