Russia v Egypt tips: Salah returns for The Pharaohs

| 18.06.2018

Russia got off to a blistering start in their opening game of the tournament.

They will be buzzing when they arrive into St. Petersburg, looking to make it two wins in two against Egypt.

However, The Pharoah’s will need to pick themselves up off the floor after conceding an 89th minute winner to Uruguay.

Denis Cheryshev could now start this game. After replacing the injury-stricken Alan Dzagoev, the Villarreal man was a constant threat on the left flank.

His two-goal haul made him one of the stars of the first week and will almost certainly be one of Russia’s main men now.

The 27-year-old is 25/1 to repeat his two-goal salvo and 14/5 to notch anytime.

The loss of Dzagoev will also mean the creative spark will rest even heavier on Aleksander Golovin.

The CSKA Moscow star was instrumental in the humbling of Al-Suqour, making two and scoring a fine free-kick.

Egypt will be desperate to make their mark on this group. A win will be vital, especially if Uruguay dispose of Saudi Arabia.

Hector Cuper’s men were moments a way from a hard earned draw in Ekaterinburg. But Jose Gimenez’s late header has put even more emphasis on the return of Mohamed Salah.

Salah is the jewel in the crown for Egypt. His omission from the starting line-up was expected but the fact he remained on the substitutes bench was damning.

Egypt ran hard with the hustle of Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and Amr Warda but had no cutting edge.

Salah will return for this one though and the Liverpool striker is 19/10 to score Any time.

He’s also 10/1 to score 2 goals or more.

Russia are favourites on home turf at 21/20, Egypt are 29/10 to snatch a much-needed three points.

The draw is at 2/1.

Both teams to score is 23/20 and with the contrast in styles here it could bring goals.
