Odds slashed on UK temperature record being broken this summer
Our traders have cut odds on the all-time high UK temperature record being broken this summer.
With temperatures surging once again, the chances of the 38.5C barrier being broken during this summer’s prolonged heatwave have melted away to just 6/4.
The current UK temperature record was recorded in Faversham, Kent back in 2003. But with the mercury continuing to rise, we’re taking no chances.
It’s a 1/2 shot that the thermometer hits 35C this week, while we also make it odds-on that the hottest day of the year is recorded again before the week is over.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The sizzling temperatures are melting our calculators. It looks safe to say the heatwave of 2018 will be talked about for decades to come.”
