Wednesday’s transfer rumour round-up: Chelsea to secure Kepa record deal

Thibaut Courtois - Belgium

It’s been a sensational last few days of the summer transfer window as we reach the point when it shuts for another few months.

There’s only another day before it closes. And the vibration from the collective football WhatsApp groups across England could cause a mild earthquake.

Here are the latest ins and outs including the rumours and gossip…

Chelsea near huge deal for Kepa

Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks with Athletic Bilbao for their number one, Kepa Arrizabalaga.

A world record £71m deal has been struck for the Spain international. And his arrival should now allow Thibaut Courtois to move to Real Madrid.

The Belgium stopper is now just 1/5 to join the Champions League winners. In other Blues’ news, Real Madrid ace Mateo Kovacic looks nailed on for a loan move to Stamford Bridge.

Grealish – will he, wont he?

Jack Grealish’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur has turned into a bit of a saga. The Aston Villa ace had been nailed on to join the London outfit.

But it’s now being reported that Aston Villa will refuse to listen to offers for the 22-year-old star. However, our traders still have Grealish at 1/3 to make the move to White Hart Lane.

But with Villa’s owners now playing hardball, the England youngster may not get his wish – yet.

Maguire itching for Manc move?

Rumours are doing the rounds that Harry Maguire is ready to force his move to Manchester United through.

The England international is unlikely to feature against his potential new club on Friday, either way. But with Jose Mourinho desperate for reinforcements, a move for the Leicester City bruiser could yet happen.

The 25-year-old is 10/11 to join the Red Devils. Spurs’ Toby Alderweireld is also still on the radar – of course, he is – and is even shorter to join the Old Trafford outfit at 2/5.

Lerma the Cherrie on the top

Bournemouth have been reasonably busy during the summer. Moves for David Brooks and Diego Rico have now been topped by the purchase of Jefferson Lerma.

The Cherries have broken their transfer record – again – to sign the Levante central midfielder for £25m. And footy fans could be familiar with the 23-year-old after some superb performances for Colombia during the World Cup.
