Nadine Shah

Nadine Shah has emerged as the new favourite to win the 2018 Mercury Prize, according to our traders.

Former favourite Jorja Smith has drifted to 8/1, while the voice behind Holiday Destination has seen her odds slashed to just 3/1, making her favourite ahead of Sons of Kemet (4/1).

Meanwhile, Arctic Monkeys are just 10/1 to join PJ Harvey as the only artists to receive multiple Mercury Prize Awards.

Other contenders for this year’s award include Florence & The Machine at 12/1 and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds at 20/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Plenty fancy Arctic Monkeys for this year’s Mercury Prize but the odds suggest it’s now Nadine Shah’s to lose.”
