Zlatan Ibrahimovic turns 37 today, and while that may be a sad reminder that the Sweden legend won’t grace football pitches forever, it is a perfect opportunity to celebrate all things Zlatan.

We’ve put together a few of his finest moments on and off the pitch to say a very happy birthday to a man who simply cannot be matched.

We know it will pain many readers, but Zlatan’s finest hour was arguably when he netted all four goals against England in a 2012 friendly.

It goes without mentioning that the pick of the quartet in that match was this bonkers, crazy, gravity defying, ridiculously audacious overhead bicycle volley kick. Oh yeah, from 25 yards out too.

There are endless goals Zlatan has scored over the years which has made the mind boggle. Least of all this on his LA Galaxy debut…

Scour the internet and you can spend hours marvelling at his exhuberant flicks, his 30-yard thunderbolts and everything in between.

And aside from being completely unpredictable on the pitch, Zlatan is rather unique in the press room too. Maybe he could do stand-up after hanging up his boots.

When asked how to shake off Stephane Henchoz:

“First I went left, he did too. Then I went right, and he did too. Then I went left again, and he went to buy a hot dog.”

On refusing the offer of a trial at Arsenal:

“Arsene Wenger asked me to have a trial with Arsenal when I was 17. I turned it down. Zlatan doesn’t do auditions.”

On being played out of position at Barcelona:

“You bought a Ferrari but you drive it like a Fiat.”

Egotistical? Maybe. But that’s what makes Zlatan, well, Zlatan.

His trophy haul can rival anyone in the game too. Ibra has won 11 league titles across four countries. Then there’s 20 various cups and an endless list of indivual awards.

And if you’ve scored more than 400 goals for clubs such as Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and LA Galaxy, then we say you’ve had quite the career.

Happy Birthday Zlatan!
