Tottenham v Man City tips: Can anyone stop the champions?

Man City betting news

Tottenham Hotspur have made their best ever start to a Premier League campaign this season. But they’re in for a huge test tonight as Manchester City come to town.

The champions have picked up where they left off last term. A win here would see them go top of the table.

It promises to be a huge clash at Wembley. And we’ve got all you need to know before it gets started…

Match Odds

City have won six of their last seven games in all competitions, the only exception being a draw away to Liverpool. Pep Guardiola’s side have kept six clean sheets during that run. They’re 4/6 favourites here and 9/4 to win to nil.

Spurs have only lost two of their last 21 home league games though, although one of those was a 3-1 loss to City last term. We’ve got them at 18/5 to win this one.

The draw is going for 29/10.

Talking Tactics

Spurs will try to hound City out of possession. The energy of Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura in wide areas will be key to stopping the visitors play.

But Hugo Lloris has made too many mistakes in goal lately. Can the home defence afford to push up if Lloris can’t sweep up behind them?

City will look to dominate the ball as ever. Kevin De Bruyne’s return to fitness means they have their first-choice midfield available from the start for the first time this season.

Bernardo Silva could move to the right flank to fit De Bruyne in. He’ll cut inside, opening space for Kyle Walker to overlap against his former side.

Goalscorer Odds

Sergio Aguero has 10 goals in 12 appearances against Spurs. He’s 16/5 favourite to open the scoring here.

Raheem Sterling got three goals against the North Londoners last term. We go 6/4 that he gets another here.

It’s no surprise Harry Kane is Spurs’ biggest goal threat at 7/5 anytime.

Lamela could trouble the City backline too. He’s been involved in four goals in five league appearances this term. The Argentine’s 10/3 to get on the scoresheet.
