We’re ready to go for the traditional festive feast which is the World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace.
Will Rob Cross defend his title? Can Michael van Gerwen reign supreme once again? All will be revealed over a thrilling three weeks of arrows.

Michael van Gerwen
The Dutchman is the overwhelming favourite. When he’s on-form nobody can get near him, but having failed to win seven of his last eight televised tournaments, can he make it count at Ally Pally?
Rob Cross
The reigning champion after that famous win last year, Rob Cross has blown hot and cold in 2018. But Voltage has shown more than enough quality to suggest he’ll defend his title with all he’s got.
Peter Wright
Always a fan favourite at this time of year, Snakebite has bounced back after a difficult Premier League campaign. Often the heaviest scorer around, is this the Scotsman’s year?
Gary Anderson
The two-time champion is arguably van Gerwen’s biggest threat. With six ranking title wins this year, Anderson has been racking up the tournament victories. Will he become a three-time world champion?
Daryl Gurney
One of the form players, plenty will be keeping a close eye on Daryl Gurney. Superchin beat MVG to win the Ladbrokes Players Championship last month, and is fancied by many to win his quarter.
Gerwyn Price
The Iceman can often cut a cold figure on the oche, but 2018 has arguably been his best season yet. Won the Grand Slam of Darts last month, and is another player heading to Ally Pally on a high.
Mensur Suljovic
Austria’s favourite arrowsmith has more than proved himself at the top level now. So can he go on and make a real impact at the Worlds for the first time?
Simon Whitlock
The man from the land Down Under will have plenty of support in North London once again this winter. Reached the final of the European Championships in October, beating Peter Wright 10-6 along the way.
James Wade
The Machine is on the comeback trail in 2018, and he’ll be out to remind everyone what he can achieve on the biggest stage. A three-time semi-finalist, can Wade go one better this time around?
Michael Smith
Runner-up to MVG in this season’s Premier League, Michael Smith has proven he can cut it at the top in 2018. Doesn’t have the best record at Ally Pally, but that’s all the more likely to spur him on this Christmas.
