Christmas number one betting closed after punters pile in on LadBaby

| 20.12.2018

While many Christmas markets are in full flow across the land, the market on this year’s festive chart-topper has been closed by our traders.

Having been as long as 6/1 for a Christmas number one yesterday, a flurry of bets saw LadBaby cut into 1/6 for the festive crown.

And our odds-crunchers have now pulled the plug, with the YouTube sensation now looking certain to beat the competition.

The Nottingham-based social media star (real name Mark Hoyle) has grabbed huge fame with his charity single ‘We Built this City on Sausage Rolls’ – a parody of the ‘80s megahit by the band Starship.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “LadBaby’s late push for Christmas number one spot looks to have worked and we’re no longer taking bets on exactly who’ll top the charts on Christmas Day.”
