Man City v Hoffenheim Tips: City to top Group F in style?

Published:
Man City betting

Manchester City can guarantee top-spot in Group F with a point at home to Hoffenheim tonight.

The Citizens are already safely through to the last-16 stage of the Champions League. An extra point this evening would ensure them of a plum draw in the first knockout round.

Can they get the result they need at the Etihad? Or will the group’s bottom side spring a shock?

Match Odds

Pep Guardiola’s men have been imperious at home since defeat to Lyon in September. They’re 2/7 to rack up an eighth success in a row in front of their own fans.

Each of City’s last four home matches have produced four goals or more. We go 13/10 about a City Win and Over 3.5 Goals tonight.

By that token, Hoffenheim require a minor miracle if they’re to pick up a first CL group stage win.

Our traders give them a puncher’s chance at 9/1. The draw is available at 19/4.

Talking Tactics

City may be tempted to rest a number of key players ahead of a busy run of games in the Premier League. That could mean starts for Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan and Fabian Delph.

Gabriel Jesus will lead the line up-front in the continued absence of Sergio Aguero. He’ll likely be flanked in a front three by the duo of Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez.

For the visitors, Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson provides one of the biggest threats. He’ll occupy the right side of an attacking trio which also includes Brazilian youngster Joelinton.

Ex-Leicester City man Andrej Kramaric is expected to occupy an attacking midfield role as the Bundesliga side look for three points which could land them a Europa League place.

Goalscorer Odds

Jesus has only netted five goals for City so far this term. Three of those did came at the Etihad in the 6-0 mauling of Shakhtar Donetsk last month.

He’s joint-favourite to Score Anytime at 7/10 and 21/10 to Score 2 or More.

Sane and Gundogan are also in decent nick in front of goal. The former is 21/20 Anytime against 2/1 for the latter.

Kramaric carries the biggest threat for the visitors after netting in each of his last eight matches for club and country. He’s 12/5 to extend that run to eight. Nelson is available at 14/5.
