Wednesday’s Premier League Tips: Issues for Man United and Liverpool?

Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all in action tonight as the Premier League’s midweek round of action draws to a close.

The foremost pair are both at home to mid-table opposition, while Spurs make the trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in our featured match.

Crystal Palace v Manchester United

Man United might be in decent nick form-wise but their playing squad is starting to look slightly threadbare. Jesse Lingard, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata all picked up injuries on Sunday.

They could be joined on the sidelines by Marcus Rashford, who is touch-and-go. Could that let in Palace? Roy Hodgson’s men are 6/10 on the Double Chance but have never beaten United in the PL.

A United win is 6/5, with Paul Pogba a 7/4 chance to keep up his fine form in front of goal and net at Selhurst Park.

Liverpool v Watford

Whisper it quietly – Liverpool are stuttering at the top. The Reds may be 2/7 to see off Watford but Jurgen Klopp’s men have only won one of their last five matches in all competitions.

That suggests two things to us. That this will be tight and a Hornets side on a three-match winning run aren’t ideal opponents. Watford are 9/2 to draw the match or 27/10 on the Double Chance.

Troy Deeney will put himself about the place and is 7/2 anytime. Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have each scored in their last three matches v Watford and are 4/5 and 7/5 respectively.

Manchester City v West Ham United

Fernandinho proved a big miss for City over Christmas. Could his absence scupper Pep Guardiola’s men again against West Ham? Our traders don’t think so, with City priced at 2/13.

Sergio Aguero is the obvious scorer pick after bagging two hat-tricks in the last month. He’s 8/13 anytime or 7/4 to score 2 goals or more.

For the Hammers, Michail Antonio makes appeal. He has two goals in his last three matches and has netted against Liverpool, Spurs and Man City in recent years. We have him down as a 5/1 chance.

Arsenal v AFC Bournemouth

Arsenal may have been inconsistent in their form over the last few weeks but it’s worth remembering they’ve not lost at home to a side outside the top six since January 2017.

That spells bad news for a Bournemouth side on a nine-match losing streak away from home. The Gunners are 2/5 for all three points, and 7/4 to Win and Both Teams to Score.

Alexandre Lacazette is a potent force at the Emirates and is even-money anytime. Josh King is a 21/10 chance to exploit an Arsenal defence which had kept three clean sheets in 20 PL matches.

Southampton v Fulham

Quality may be in short supply down on the South Coast. But the goals should be flowing. Fulham and Southampton have shipped 96 goals combined in the top-flight this term.

Both Teams to Score is 7/10, with Over 2.5 Goals at 5/6. A Cottagers side which has been breached twice or more in all bar two Premier League away matches is 19/10 to allow Nathan Redmond in.
