Tuesday’s Euro 2020 qualifier tips: Another three points for Ireland?

The first batch of Euro 2020 qualifiers come to a close tonight, with eight matches taking place.
Mick McCarthy will be hoping he can guide the Republic of Ireland to a second win on the spin at home to Georgia, while Italy host minnows Liechtenstein.

Rep. Ireland v Georgia
The Emerald Isle didn’t impress in a 1-0 win over Gibraltar on Saturday, but a plastic pitch and gusty winds were major hindrances.
So we should get a proper indication of what McCarthy has in mind for his second stint as Ireland boss in tonight’s clash. Our traders have ROI as 4/6 favourites, with Georgia, who have lost all five prior visits to Ireland, out at 5/1.
Goals are often at a premium when Ireland play. Their last five games have seen just two strikes in total. And with each of their last three meetings against the Georgians seeing under 2.5 goals, there’s 8/15 about under 2.5 goals and 4/1 for a 1-0 home win.
James Collins and Sean Maguire head up the first goalscorer betting at 7/2 apiece.
Switzerland v Denmark
This game could have big implications in Group D. Only two of Switzerland, Denmark and Ireland can bag the automatic spots.
Switzerland beat Georgia 2-0 on Saturday, and are 6/5 to make it six points from six. This is the Dane’s opening qualifier, and 5/2 says they blow the group wide-open with victory.
The Swiss will have to keep tabs on Christian Eriksen. The Spurs star creates all of Denmark’s good work, and he’s 10/3 to net anytime.
Italy v Liechtenstein
Italy are a side in transition, but they should have little problem dealing with Liechtenstein. Our traders have slapped up Roberto Mancini’s at 1/150. That’s right.
The visitors are a mighty 100/1 to win this evening, but they’ve only won five of 47 Euro qualifiers.
So this should be about Gli Azzurri racking up a score. Ciro Immobile and Fabio Quagliarella are each 2/1 to net the opening goal, while Immobile is 10/3 to score a hat-trick.
Liechtenstein’s last visit to Italy saw them lose 5-0 in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. A repeat is 9/2, with Mancini’s men 3/4 on the -4 handicap.
Norway v Sweden
We should have a far more competitive affair up in Norway tonight, where neighbours Sweden make the visit. Both sides are realistically eyeing up second place in Group F behind Spain.
The Swedes hold the upper hand after beating Romania on Saturday, while the Norwegians lost narrowly in Spain.
This should be close. Norway are 31/20, with the Swedes slight outsiders at 19/10. A third-consecutive draw is chalked up at 2/1.
Bournemouth’s Joshua King scored a penalty in Valencia on Saturday, and the forward is 5/1 to net the opener in Oslo.
Malta v Spain
Luis Enrique’s men had to work hard to beat Norway in their opening qualifier, but the 2012 champions should have an easier time of things in Malta.
Rodrigo Moreno netted the opener on Saturday, and the Valencia forward is 12/5 to do so again.
