2,000 Guineas: Skardu 10/1 for Newmarket Classic after Craven win
Unbeaten raider Skardu has been slashed into just 10/1 from 25/1 to win the 2,000 Guineas following an impressive victory in the Craven Stakes at Newmarket.
William Haggas’ charge was well-backed before the off and duly justified that support to make it two from two on the flat after backing up a 33/1 success at HQ in September.

That means the three-year-old is now behind only seven rivals for the 2,000 Guineas, which takes place on May 4th 2019.
Those adversaries include long-time favourite Too Darn Hot (9/4), Persian King (4/1), Ten Sovereigns (4/1) and Magna Grecia (6/1).
Royal Marine, who couldn’t quite find a gap in the Craven, remains an 8/1 chance, while the previously fancied Zakouski has been eased out to 14/1.
Meanwhile, Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes had this to say : “With disappointing runs from Royal Marine and Zakousi the odds suggest that Persian King could be Godolphin’s key horse for the race.”
