Idris Elba and Richard Madden joint-favourites for Bond role

With Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond coming to an end, the race to replace him is getting tighter and tighter, with the front-runner to be the next 007 changing hands again.

Idris Elba and Richard Madden have overtaken Tom Hiddleston in the betting, with Elba and Madden sitting as 3/1 joint-favourites to replace Craig.

Hiddleston has slipped to 4/1 in the running, with seven names now 10/1 or shorter .

Cillian Murphy and James Norton have slipped back, with Murphy dropping to 5/1 from 4s, and Norton at 6/1 from 5s.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Plenty have headed the betting over the last few years in the race to be the next Bond, but as things stand it’s Idris Elba and Richard Madden who lead the way.”
