PDC Home Tour Betting Tips: De Sousa and Brown fight out Group 25

| 11.05.2020

Keegan Brown will get another chance in the PDC Home Tour this evening after his initial foray into the competition was cut short due to a poor WiFi connection.

The Isle of Wight arrowsmith reckons those problems are now behind him as he bids to outgun Jose De Sousa, Robert Thornton and Reece Robinson in Group 25.

Can The Needle thread his way through to the next round at odds of 11/4? We’ve previewed three of this evening’s matches below.

Keegan Brown v Reece Robinson (19:30)

This is probably one of the tightest groups of the entire tournament. And as such there’s very little to split the players in the opening encounter, with Brown at 4/7 against 13/10 for Robinson.

Those odds belie the head-to-head record between the pair, with The Sugar coming out on top in four of their seven encounters, including a 6-5 success in a Danish Open Qualifier last year.

That could lend itself to another close-fought encounter this evening. You can get 8/11 about Over 7.5 Legs in the contest, while we go 7/1 for Robinson to prevail with a narrow 5-4 victory.

Jose De Sousa v Robert Thornton (20:00)

Thornton may be a two-time major winner but it’s De Sousa who’s fancied to take the spoils in this clash. The exciting Portuguese thrower is 4/9 to come out on top, with Thornton back at 13/8.

It’s easy to see why. The Special One has a much better record in floor tournaments than his opponent over the last 12 months, winning a Players Championship event in October 2019.

He’s also shown himself to be a more consistent 180 hitter, and there’s 11/10 available for him to hit more maximums in the match than his Scottish rival.

Keegan Brown v Jose De Sousa (21:00)

The feature game of the night could well be the decider, and our traders are finding it difficult to split the group favourites. De Sousa has been installed as the narrow 2/3 jolly against 11/10 for Brown.

Whichever way the match goes it should provide us with plenty of entertainment. Both players are ranked inside the top 30 for maximums hit in major tournaments over the last 12 months.

There’s 5/6 about Over 3.5 180s in the match this evening while Brown, who has hit 28 more than his opponent in majors since May 2019, is 19/10 to ping the lipstick more times than De Sousa.
