Borussia Dortmund v Schalke Betting Tips: Dortmund to clinch Revierderby?

Published:

The Bundesliga returns with a Revierderby at Signal Iduna Park as Dortmund look to take all three points in their title push.

Bayern Munich are currently in pole position to remain champions ahead of Dortmund in second, four points behind.

Meanwhile, Schalke have European aspirations of their own and a victory over their rivals could provide a timely boost as they bid to find form before the end of the season.

The action gets underway at 2:30pm on BT Sport 1 and we’ve got all the pre-match odds and info right here…

Match Odds

BvB haven’t lost a league match at home all season, but the famous ‘Yellow Wall’ might not be as intimidating without any fans. The hosts start the match as 1/2 favourites.

Sixth-placed Schalke come into the Revierderby in awful form, without a win in their last seven games. However, the Royal Blues have lost only one of their last eight derby meetings with Dortmund and are 5/1 to snatch all three points.

Local derbies are always tough to predict. A draw priced at 13/4 odds with over 2.5 goals 8/13.

Talking tactics

Both sides have injury concerns going into the match. Die Borussen will be without their captain Marco Reus (thigh) with Emre Can and Axel Witsel also doubts in midfield.

For Schalke, central defenders Benjamin Stambouli and Salif Sane are back in training following injuries with Sane expected to feature. Ozan Kabak (back) and Omar Mascarell (groin) are also doubts.

The game will be influenced by Schalke’s ability to nullify the attacking threat of Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Thorgan Hazard of Dortmund.

David Wagner will use young stars of his own in both midfield and attack with Jonjoe Kenny, Rabbi Matondo and Weston McKennie set to play key roles.

Goalscorer Odds

All eyes will be on Haaland. The teenager has scored 12 goals in 11 games since his January move from Red Bull Salzburg. He is 5/6 to score anytime and 7/2 to score two or more.

Haaland has formed a formidable partnership with Sancho, who has notched an incredible 14 goals and 15 assists so far this season. The England winger is 7/2 to score first in the Revierderby.

For Schalke, Amine Harit is 10/3 to score anytime. He has had a hand in more Bundesliga goals than any other S04 player this season.
