Champions League Betting Tips: Messi and Ronaldo renew rivalry in Barca v Juventus

| 08.12.2020

Lionel Messi v Cristiano Ronaldo. If both players line up for Barcelona v Juventus tonight, it’ll be the 36th time they’ve shared a pitch together.

The pair have 11 Ballon d’Ors and nine Champions Leagues between them and have gone toe-to-toe in some of El Clasico’s most famous clashes, conjuring magic that David Copperfield would be in awe of.

But while the two European giants come to blows at the Camp Nou, we’ll also run the rule over the other ties you can check out.

Barcelona v Juventus (20:00)

Top spot is up for grabs as Juventus take on Barcelona later. Aside from the Messi and Ronaldo show, they’ll be an array of talent on the bill including Philippe Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann, Federico Chiesa and Alvaro Morata.

Barcelona are three points clear of Juve and are 11/10 to claim victory. The draw is at 11/4, while Juventus are 11/5 to take the spoils..

The Italian side require a win of three or more goals to claim top spot. They’re 12/1 to score Over 3.5 Goals. No mean feat for us mere mortals but Juve have Ronaldo – he’s 11/2 to notch two or more goals.

Messi is 5/1 to match him, while Griezmann is 7/4 anytime.

RB Leipzig v Manchester United (20:00)

A draw at 13/5 is enough for Man United to advance to the knock-out stages. But a victory for RB Leipzig (7/5) would see them progress.

Manchester United are 17/10 to win but will be without Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial. The goal-scoring burden will fall on Marcus Rashford who’s 10/3 to score in an away win.

Donny van de Beek is 9/2 to bag anytime, with Bruno Fernandes the 9/5 favourite.

It’s essentially a knockout game between the two teams so we could expect a right old ding-dong. Over 3.5 Goals in the game is 5/4, with Yussuf Poulsen at 7/4 to find the net for the German side.

Chelsea v Krasnodar (20:00)

Can Kepa keep out Krasnodar tonight? The Spanish goalkeeper will return between the sticks with Chelsea safely through to the last-sixteen.

Frank Lampard may also shuffle his pack giving the likes of Jorginho, Billy Gilmour and Tammy Abraham some much needed minutes.

The home side are as short as 1/4 to win the game, with Krasnodar – already guaranteed third place in the group – 12/1 to nick the victory.

Christian Pulisic should also play a part and is 23/20 to score anytime. Team-mate Olivier Giroud is 5/6 to continue his impressive goal-scoring form.

Krasnodar’s most dangerous attack may come from Marcus Berg (16/5) and former Newcastle man Remy Cabella (5/1 anytime).
