Santa Coloma v Hibernian betting tips and odds

Hibernian, like Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen, take a comfortable first-leg advantage from their Europa Conference League second-round qualifier to Andorra.

A double from Martin Boyle and a late goal from Scotland striker Kevin Nisbet secured a 3-0 win at Easter Road and Hibs are 3/10 to get the job done with another victory.

Match Odds

An eventful opening leg saw three red cards, one in the first half for Hibs midfielder Joe Newell while the Andorrans had Hamza Ryahi Bouharma and Robert Ramos dismissed in a six-minute spell after the break.

Despite Newell’s controversial 29th-minute sending-off, the hosts more than held their own and extended their lead early in the second half before the Andorrans went to pieces.

Another win to nil for the visitors can be backed at 23/20, a victory by under 3.5 goals is available at 11/10 and a win by at least two goals is priced at 10/11.

Boyle gave Hibs a 14th-minute lead and against a limited Andorran team, the Scottish side can be backed at 16/5 to be ahead after a quarter of an hour.

Head coach Jack Ross was reasonably pleased with his side’s performance, especially the second 45 minutes, and suggested there will be no let-up when they travel to Andorra.

“Certainly in the second half, I thought the intensity we played at was a lot better,” he told the club’s website. “It gives us a good advantage going into the second leg. We want to reproduce that second-half performance next week as well too.”

Hibs can be backed at 11/2 or 7/1 for 2-0 and 3-0 victories and are 2/1 to win both halves as they did in Edinburgh.

Talking Tactics

Newell will be suspended for the second leg so Ross has a decision to make about his replacement in midfield.

Hibs started in a 4-2-3-1 formation but Kyle Magennis came on for Scott Allan in the immediate aftermath of Newell’s red card, with Ross changing to a 4-3-2 in the second half which saw Boyle accompany Nisbet up front.

The Andorrans will have two players suspended for the game and are likely to deploy a 4-4-2 as they did at Easter Road.
