League Two betting tips: Dale in for tough clash with Yellows

League Two betting tips and odds

Swindon took advantage of the top three all drawing on Tuesday night by moving into the automatic promotion spots with a 2-1 win at in-form Sutton.

The Robins are back on home soil this weekend as they take Bradford as one of our League Two betting tips in which the hosts are priced as 27/20 favourites.

We’re also covering the clash between Port Vale and Colchester but start Saturday’s preview with Sutton’s trip to Rochdale.

Rochdale v Sutton

Sutton’s four-match winning run came to an end on Tuesday night but the Football League newcomers are still handily placed in eighth spot, just three points adrift of the automatic promotion places.

After the game, manager Matt Gray said: “Our performances have been excellent even when at the start of the season we weren’t getting results. We’ve come up against one of the top teams in this league and given them a game.”

Rochdale aren’t in that category having failed to win any of their last six games, although they produced excellent second-half performances to eke out draws against Swindon and Salford in their previous two matches.

Another share of the spoils is priced at 11/5 but the visitors look an interesting prospect at 2/1 for a third successive win on the road.

Port Vale v Colchester

The Valiants missed the chance to move up to second place on Tuesday night although they were fortunate to get a point from a 1-1 draw against Mansfield, who had a penalty saved and were generally the better team.

Darrell Clarke’s side are 4/5 favourites to beat Colchester who until last weekend had not scored in their previous four games but a 1-0 win against high-flying Harrogate and Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at home to Bristol Rovers has helped them pull away from the relegation zone.

Vale’s last four matches have involved goals at both ends and they are 16/5 to win and concede as one of our League Two betting tips.

The hosts also have the best first-half record in the division and have been leading at the break in six of their last seven matches, so we go 29/20 on Vale being up at the interval.

Swindon v Bradford

Both teams were expected to be in the promotion hunt at the start of the season but Bradford’s early promise has faded and they are now looking for new recruits in January to bolster their squad.

Despite being third in the table, Swindon have won just one of their six home games but share the best record on the road with five victories and two draws in seven outings.

A draw would not be out of the question at 11/5 but the Bantams have won just one of their last nine and Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat by Hartlepool was their first loss at home this season as they contemplate a tough run against top-six sides Swindon, Forest Green, Port Vale, Tranmere and Northampton.

Jonathan Williams struck a superb goal at Sutton on Tuesday to add to the goal he scored against Rochdale and we go 6/1 on the Wales international scoring in a home win as the last of our League Two betting tips.
