Port Vale vs Rotherham – Valiants just edge betting at 6/4

Published:

Chesterfield stretched the gap at the top of League Two to seven points on Saturday, and Wycombe Wanderers and Rotherham are playing catch-up with the league leaders.

Port Vale vs Rotherham United

Since Micky Adams departure for Sheffield United, Port Vale’s title ambitions have hit a roadblock and their match with Rotherham on Tuesday night will be a key clash in the race for automatic promotion.

Port Vale are the slight favourites at 6/4, but considering Rotherham are unbeaten on their last three visits to Vale Park, the value is in backing Rotherham at 17/10.

Just a point separates the two sides in the table but a loss for Port Vale would seriously dent any ambitions of a late title charge, and Rotherham can end Vale’s title hopes with a 2-1 victory priced at 9/1.

Stockport County vs Chesterfield

The League Two leaders are in ominous form after stretching their unbeaten run to eight games, and Stockport should prove little trouble for Chesterfield who are 4/6 to beat Stockport.

Chesterfield dominated Stockport at the B2net Stadium winning 4-1 on New Years Day, and after nine goals in the last two games between the two, the fans that fill Edgeley Park could be in for a treat.

Chesterfield are 33/1 to repeat that 4-1 victory but away from home, the 3-1 scoreline looks the wiser bet at 10/1.

Wycombe Wanderers vs Cheltenham Town

Wycombe have emerged as Chesterfield’s main title contenders and are 4/5 to beat Cheltenham and continue to applying the pressure on Chesterfield.

But Cheltenham are unbeaten in seven trips to Adams Park and can cause the upset of Tuesday night’s fixtures by beating Wycombe at 7/2.

A repeat of Cheltenham’s 2/1 play-off win in the 05/06 season is priced at 14/1.

A £25 treble on Rotherham, Chesterfield and Cheltenham winning would return £506.25. New customers can sign up here for a free bet worth £25.
