Man Utd v Everton betting tips and odds

Manchester United return to domestic action on a high after Cristiano Ronaldo secured a dramatic Champions League victory against Villarreal on Wednesday night.

Ronaldo struck in the fifth and final minute of stoppage time in his record-breaking 178th appearance in the competition to seal a 2-1 win against the team that beat them in last season’s Europa League final.

The Red Devils are just 1/2 to win Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off but let’s see what else is available in our Man Utd v Everton betting tips.

Match Odds

United may be hot favourites to win this top-five battle at Old Trafford but they looked disjointed in the first hour on Wednesday when David de Gea made a string of superb saves to keep the Spaniards at bay.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also had a decimated back line with Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all out so the Mersesysiders will smell an opportunity this weekend.

The Toffees are only behind Saturday’s opponents on goal difference and they have drawn three of the last four encounters with United, two of which were at Old Trafford.

Last season, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, like Ronaldo in midweek, struck deep into stoppage time to earn the Merseysiders a 3-3 draw, 14 months after the teams had drawn 1-1 at the same ground.

Another share of the spoils is 16/5 and it’s 17/4 on that outcome with goals thrown into the equation, but the visitors certainly can’t be ruled out from winning here for the first time in eight years which is 6/1 or they are 13/8 in the double chance market.

The Toffees have taken the lead in four of the last five matches against United and are 12/5 to do so again or 18/5 to break the deadlock in the first half.

There have been goals at both ends in the last four encounters which is 10/11 and the hosts to win and concede can be backed at 23/10 as one of our Man Utd v Everton betting tips.

Talking Tactics

Solskjaer will be able to welcome back Wan-Bissaka from his European suspension, but Alex Telles and Victor Lindelof may have to deputise once again for Shaw and Maguire.

Everton boss Rafael Benitez also has injury problems although they are in the forward department, with Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin both missing the 2-0 win against Norwich, although the England striker is back in light training.

Salomon Rondon played as the sole striker with Demarai Gray operating in the number 10 role in a 4-4-1-1 formation in which Andros Townsend and Alex Iwobi operated on the flanks.

Goalscorer Odds

Ronaldo heads the betting at 5/2 to score the first goal and is 5/6 to net his sixth goal of the season.

Bruno Fernandes is 4/1 and 6/4 in the same markets, while Mason Greenwood is 6/1 and 11/5.

Telles is 12/1 to repeat his stunning goal against Villarreal and Jadon Sancho is 13/5 to bag his first goal for United.

For the visitors, Rondon is 7/1 to break the deadlock or 9/4 to score, while in-form winger Gray has been boosted from 7/2 to 4/1 to score his fourth of the season.

Townsend has one more in all competitions and is 6/1 to score or 16/1 to net the first goal of the game as the last of our Man Utd v Everton betting tips.
