Chelsea v Norwich Betting Tips: Can the Blues extend the top four gap?

Published:
Frank Lampard

Chelsea can extend their advantage over Leicester and Manchester United to four points with victory over Norwich City this evening as the race for the top-four hots up.

Frank Lampard’s men left the door open for the Foxes and the Red Devils following their defeat to Sheffield United, but neither could capitalise with a victory, which means the Blues remain in third spot.

Now the West Londoners have the perfect opportunity to open a gap between themselves and the chasing pack at home to already-relegated Norwich. Can they take advantage and pick up all three points?

Match Odds

The Blues haven’t set the world alight at home this term, but they have won their last four at Stamford Bridge.

Our traders can’t see past them making that five this evening, with 1/8 on offer for Chelsea to claim all three points.

There’s also 7/10 about the hosts to Win to Nil against a Norwich side that have scored just seven goals on their travels, while we go 1/2 for Chelsea to prevail in the Half-Time/Full-Time market.

The Canaries aren’t given much of a prayer at 16/1, with 15/2 available about the Draw.

Talking Tactics

Lampard could ring the changes following the weekend defeat in Yorkshire, with Callum Hudson-Odoi, Olivier Giroud, Matteo Kovacic and Antonio Rudiger among those primed for recalls.

One player who won’t be available is midfielder N’Golo Kante. The Frenchman has been missing with a hamstring injury since the victory over Watford earlier this month and remains unavailable for selection.

Daniel Farke, Norwich, Premier League, Norwich v Brighton betting tips

Norwich’s relegation at home to West Ham allows Canaries boss Daniel Farke to experiment with his side ahead of their return to the Championship next season.

That could mean a second Premier League start for 19-year-old forward Adam Idah and a place in the starting XI for German midfielder Lukas Rupp. Todd Cantwell is also expected to return.

Goalscorer Odds

Four Chelsea players are odds-on to find the net against the visitors, with Tammy Abraham leading the way at 8/11.

The youngster may have to settle for a place on the bench to begin with, but after finding the net against the Canaries twice at Carrow Road last August, he should play some part in the contest.

Giroud is next best at 5/6, while the in-form Willian is 5/4 to score anytime and a 4/1 chance to break the deadlock.

For the visitors, Cantwell hit the target against the Blues 11 months ago and is 9/2 to do so again, with Idah a 10/3 shot behind Pukki at 14/5.
