Pochettino - Tottenham

Julen Lopetegui’s short and disastrous tenure as Real Madrid boss ended yesterday. And the latest odds suggest that could lead the way for Mauricio Pochettino to take over.

Following his post-match comments after Tottenham Hotspur’s loss last night, the Argentine has seen his odds of taking over at Real slashed from 20/1 into just 3/1.

As it stands, Santiago Solari heads the betting at 4/7. As for former frontrunner Antonio Conte, he’s alongside Poch at 3/1 for the gig.

That pair are followed in the betting by Arsene Wenger at 6/1, with Roberto Martinez priced up at 10s.

However, our traders are all-but ruling out a return to Santiago Bernabeu for former boss Zinedine Zidane, who’s as long as 33/1 for the gig.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Has Poch taken Spurs as far as they can go? The latest odds suggest he may well call time on his spell in North London in favour of a move to Madrid.”
